Susan Ann Borys

Susan (DeMarchi) Borys, 71, of Longmeadow, beloved wife of Robert Borys, passed away at home after a brief illness. Susan and Robert were married for 49 years and shared a joyful life together, always surrounded by a wide circle of friends and family that they loved.
Susan was born in Springfield to the late George and Elsie (D’Amario), of Springfield. She attended Commerce High School of Springfield MA.
Susan was a long-time and dedicated employee at Forrest Insurance Agency, where she worked for 49 years, most recently as Office Manager, beginning in the Sixteen Acres office and then in the East Longmeadow office. She was loved by her co-workers whom she considered extended family. Susan’s clients appreciated her kind demeanor and helpful attitude, and many became more than simply clients, but her personal friends. Susan was the consummate professional, respected for her commitment to her work and her clients. Colleagues reflected fondly upon her years of work, remarking that “no one was better at their job than Sue was.”
In addition to her career, Susan was deeply dedicated to her family and friends. Susan is survived by her beloved husband Robert, her dear sister, Maria DeMarchi, also of Longmeadow, as well as her brother-in-law Walter, his wife Nancy, and nephew Walter Jr. A lover of music, fresh air, and exercise, you could often spot Sue walking miles to listen to a concert at Tanglewood in the Berkshires. She loved to cook gourmet dinners for friends and family, travel, spend winters in Florida, and open their home to her loved ones. She will be deeply missed by lifelong friends and family who treasure their happy memories of Sue and will always remember her warm, inviting friendship.
Susan was a faithful communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Longmeadow. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday November 23, 2020 at 12:00pm at St. Mary’s Church, 519 Longmeadow St., Longmeadow MA. A private burial will follow. A Celebration of Susan’s life will take place in September 2021.
