Palmer – Richard D. “Ricky” Maxwell, II, 60, of Palmer, passed away Monday April 9, 2018. Born in Springfield to Arlene (Demers) Teixeira and the late Richard D. Maxwell, I, he was a lifelong area resident. Richard faced many challenges throughout his life, but would always rise to the occasion and did it all with a smile on his face. He was always very happy and enjoyed spending time attending hockey games, theater, movies, going out to eat and watching both the news and cartoons. He was member of St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Palmer. He will be dearly missed by his mother and step-father, Arlene and her husband Carlos Teixiera of Ludlow; his sister, Theresa Nichols and her husband James of Florida; his brother, Steven Maxwell and his wife Maria of Ludlow and by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his father, Richard, he was predeceased by his sister, Sandra Maxwell. Family and friends are invited to meet for a period of visitation on Monday April 16th from 10am – 12noon at the Forastiere Funeral Home, 45 Locust St., Springfield with a Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00 PM at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church, 417 Boston Rd., Springfield. A graveside service for Richard will be held on Saturday April 21st at 10:30 AM at Oak Grove Cemetery, 426 Bay St., Springfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Richard’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905.
