Nora E. Scott Murphy

Nora Scott Murphy, born July 14th, 1922, passed away March 14th at the Jewish Nursing Home in Longmeadow.  Born in County Sligo, Ireland she was a resident of Gilman St. in Springfield and previously was employed at the William Carter Company. She was predeceased by her husband John Murphy. The youngest of eight, she was also predeceased by her sisters Linda Burke, Ann Scott, Barbara Sullivan and four brothers and sisters in Ireland. Additionally, she leaves a stepson, Jim Murphy of Florida, and many nieces and nephews and beloved friends, both in America and Ireland.
In lieu of calling hours, a funeral mass will be held at 10am, Monday, March 19th, at St. Mary’s Church in Longmeadow, followed by the burial in Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Springfield. Donations may be made in Nora’s memory to a charity of one’s choice.
