Obituary

Agawam- Mary Jackson, 96, passed away peacefully on March 17, 2020. Mary was born in Glen Head, Oyster Bay NY on May 14, 1923 to the late Charles and Mary (Grestor) Wasylkin. A first generation Austrian-American, Mary was the youngest of 5 children growing up on Long Island. Mary worked as a clerk stenographer for the War Department of the US Government. She married her love Robert Jackson, an honorable World War 2 Army veteran, who predeceased her in 1972. Mary liked to travel, and moved to Boynton Beach FL for 17 years where she enjoyed the bright Florida sun and her orange tree in her yard. In 2008 she relocated to Massachusetts to be close to her family. She loved reading novels, and enjoyed playing the crossword puzzles. She loved spending time with friends and family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by her daughter Nancy Biram and her husband Billy of Enfield CT, her grandchildren Bari Jarvis and her husband Jeffrey of Feeding Hills and Bret Biram and his wife Tara of West Springfield, and her great grandchildren Bailey, Ashlyn, Casey, Drew and Lily. She also leaves her niece Stephanie Henry and great-nephew Ricky Henry and her nephew Raymond Wasylkin. In addition to her parents and husband Robert, Mary was predeceased by her grandson Adam Biram, and (brothers and sisters) Estelle (Lovett), Ann (Schwarz), Steven Wasylkin and wife Jeanette and Willie and wife Anna. Mary’s family would like to thank Heritage Hall South C-Wing staff and Beacon Hospice. Services are entrusted to Colonial Forastiere Funeral & Cremation, and a Celebration of Mary’s Life will be held at a later date.
