Iris Bradley-Lovekin

EAST LONGMEADOW - Iris Bradley-Lovekin, 88, passed away on August 28, 2019 at Baystate Medical Center. Born in Birmingham, England on December 27, 1930 to the late Victor and Doris (Lees) Bradley-Lovekin, she attended Waverly Grammar School. Iris married Robert Langford in Birmingham in 1948. They welcomed their first daughter Susan before immigrating to the Springfield area in 1954, where four more daughters arrived over 7 years. Although Iris and Bob divorced in 1975, they remained friends until his death in 2015. She was employed at Western New England College for 13 years as a Library Associate, before retiring in 2003. Prior to that, she had worked at Springfield City Library, Punta Gorda Library in Florida and American International College. Iris was a voracious reader and prolific knitter. She also enjoyed many crafts. Most of all she loved her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren and she made sure to make time for each one of them. Predeceased by her daughter Nancy Dearden and her sister Doris Palfrey, Iris leaves to cherish her memory her daughters Susan French, Sally Haggerty and her husband John, Kim Glover, and Roberta Langford; 12 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren as well as her close friend Sue Fox. She remained very close to her only sister and family in England throughout the years. They loved their Tilly/Arnie. Family and friends are invited to gather on Saturday, October 5, 2019 from 1PM-2PM at Forastiere Smith Funeral Home, 220 North Main Street, East Longmeadow, MA with a memorial service to follow at 2PM.
