AGAWAM - Helene S. Romanko will be remembered for her amazing talent of cross-stitching and knitting, as well as, her joy to play in her garden of flowers. She enjoyed the simple things in life: going out to breakfast, spending time at the beach, her daily Sudoku puzzles and spending time with her family. Born in Sherbrooke, Canada, Helene was one of nine children to her parents Laurent and Emilie (Royer) D’Amboise. She is the beloved wife of David F. Romanko of Agawam. Helene is also survived by her three sons, Joseph Gilbert of Agawam, Samuel Romanko and his fiancé Ashton Allsop of Agawam, and Kory Romanko of Springfield; her grandson Clark; her mother Emilie (Royer) D’Amboise; her siblings: Paul D’Amboise, Carole Rager, Francine Johnson, Diane Olden, Denise Brochu, Michelle D’Amboise, Lyne D’Amboise, and Susie Ouimette; her brother-in-law Daniel Romanko and his wife Pearl; sister-in-law Susan Higgins; and many nieces and nephews. Besides her father, Helene is predeceased by her brother-in-law John Higgins; and mother-in-law Eileen Romanko. Helene passed away on October 11, 2020 surrounded by her loving family. Visiting hours to honor Helene will take place on Saturday, October 17, 2020 from 9-11AM followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 11AM at Colonial Forastiere Funeral & Cremation on 985 Main Street in Agawam.
