Obituary

SPRINGFIELD – Elizabeth “Betty” “Tootie” J. (Zarlengo) Miller, 72, passed away on February 12, 2020 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Springfield, MA on October 20, 1947 to the late Angelo and Elizabeth (Lynch) Zarlengo. She attended Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Grammar School and graduated from Cathedral High School in the Class of 1965. Betty then obtained her Associate’s Degree from STCC. After 30 years of dedicated employment, Betty retired from Baystate Medical Center where she was a Medical Laboratory Technician. She loved spending time with family, playing with her grandchildren and gardening. Over the years, she enjoyed antiquing, fixing up her old house, dancing, collecting sea glass on the CT shoreline and doing jigsaw puzzles. To cherish her memory, Betty leaves her loving and devoted husband of 40 years, John M. Miller of Springfield; her children Russell Stratton and his wife Mary of Southwick, MA, Michelle Fournier and her husband Rick of Glens Falls, NY, Denise Moccia and her husband Carl of Springfield and Sharry Kudas and her husband Jacek of Kennebunkport, ME; her cherished grandchildren Kenneth, Joseph and Clare Stratton, Elizabeth and Charlotte Moccia, and Isabella, Olivia, Gabriella and Jacek, Jr. Kudas; her brother Christopher Zarlengo and his wife Susan; her sister Christine Abrahamson and her husband Joseph Seipel, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to gather on Wednesday, February19, 2020 from 4-7 PM at Forastiere Smith Funeral Home, 220 North Main Street, East Longmeadow. Funeral services will be held privately for the family.
