Christopher Davis

December 19, 1976 ~ November 24, 2020 (age 43) 43 Years Old

Obituary

On Tuesday, November 24, 2020 Christopher Francis Davis earned an all access exclusive ticket and backstage pass to the biggest and best concert in the world for his front row seat in heaven. Chris courageously battled pancreatic cancer for more than a year and leaves his wife Melanie Toro and daughters Danielle and Paige to continue to rock-on in everyday life. Chris was born December 19, 1976 and will be deeply missed by his mother Janis (Seder) Davis and her partner James Couture, and father Scott Davis and his wife Michelle. Chris grew up in Springfield and East Longmeadow, however claimed East Longmeadow to be his forever home. Chris attended Holy Cross, Cathedral and graduated from East Longmeadow High School in 1994. Chris was loyal, funny, kind and enjoyed many interests in his life. He was an avid bowler where he had 300 games and an 800 series, enjoyed golf having a hole in one, fantasy sports for over 30 years, the Sons of the Desert, Star Wars, poker, karaoke and including music of all kinds, especially Prince, Butch Walker and his favorite band Extreme! But his biggest joy was spending time with “his girls” Melanie, Danielle and Paige. Chris was proud to have his first job at Big Y, ever so much so it was the only place he would grocery shop. He began working at MassMutual and briefly left for a short stint at the Tudor House, ultimately using his spare time to earn his bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts at Hartford Art School. Chris returned to MassMutual and for the past 24 years had many jobs, lastly working with the Fraud Surveillance Team. A heartfelt special thank you goes out to the D’Amour Cancer Center and Baystate VNA for the tireless treatment he received with such grace and dignity. Chris requested a casual wake during these times of Covid and asked attendees to please wear your favorite concert/music T-shirt or favorite sports team jersey. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Danielle and Paige Davis Memorial Fund, and sent to MassMutual Federal Credit Union, 1295 State St., F235 Springfield, MA 01111. Calling hours will be on Tuesday, December 1, 2020 from 4:00-7:00PM at Forastiere Smith Funeral & Cremation on 220 N. Main Street in East Longmeadow. The funeral service will be Wednesday, December 2 beginning 9:15am at the funeral home, with a 10:30am Liturgy of Christian Burial in St. Michael’s Church on 128 Maple Street in East Longmeadow and burial will follow in Baptist Village Cemetery also in East Longmeadow.
