Carmela Trezza

SPRINGFIELD – Carmela Trezza, 89, passed away on November 20, 2020 at Vero Nursing Home of Hampden, MA surrounded by her family. Born in Salerno, Italy in August of 1931, she was the daughter of the late Vincenzo and Guiseppina (Caruso) Liquori. Carmela enjoyed gardening, her flowers and cooking, but most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Besides her parents, Carmela was predeceased by her beloved husband of 54 years, Luigi Trezza who passed away in May in 2012 and her 5 brothers and 4 sisters.
She is survived by her son Joseph Trezza and his wife Deborah of Wilbraham; two daughters Carmela Fitzpatrick and her husband Richard and Anna Pepin and her husband Alan, all of Ludlow; eight grandchildren Joseph & Julia Trezza, Christopher, Brianna, & Ariana Fitzpatrick, Michael & Samuel Pepin, and Richard McCormick, III; her great granddaughter, Luna who is expected to arrive in January, 2021; her brother Vincenzo Liquori and his wife Maria of Springfield as well as many nieces and nephews.  

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to Richard McCormick, III and to the staff at Vero at Hampden for their compassionate care they gave Carmela.

Family and friends are invited to gather on Friday, November 27, 2020 from 5:00-7:00pm at Forastiere Smith Funeral Home, 220 North Main Street, East Longmeadow. The funeral will begin on Saturday, November 28th at 8:15am at the funeral home, then a 9:30am Liturgy of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 123 William St, Springfield followed by burial in St. Michael’s Cemetery, State Street, Springfield.
