Angela M. Daniele

Angela M. Daniele, 71, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at Baystate Medical Center on September 12, 2020. She was born in Bracigliano, Province of Salerno, Italy on June 1, 1949 and was the daughter of the late Francesco and Emilia (Grimaldi) De Crescenzo.

For over 25 years, Angela was employed by the City of Springfield School System as a cook. She later returned to work in the schools as a Lunch Mother. Angela’s most prized possession was her beloved husband, (3) daughters, son-in-laws and (6) grandchildren. Her most cherished memories were Monday night dinners with her family, holiday gatherings where she was surrounded by those who meant the world to her.

Her passion was cooking and baking for family and friends. Angela enjoyed spending time in her vegetable garden, planting flowers and working alongside her beloved husband on home projects and making homemade wine and soppressatas. Angela was also a longtime communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.

To cherish her memory, she leaves her beloved husband of 51 years, Raffaele Daniele of Springfield; her loving daughters Francesca Carpentieri and her husband Giancarlo of Longmeadow, Stella D’Ascoli and her husband Joe of East Longmeadow and Emilia Cruz and her husband Pablo of Springfield; her cherished grandchildren Graziano, Giovanni, Gilda, Gabriella, Pasquale and Grace; her sister Giuseppa De Crescenzo and her husband Matteo of Italy as well as her nieces Angela and Francesca who she loved as her own. She also leaves behind her sister- in - law Stella Carrano and husband Salvatore of Springfield, brother in law Alfonso Daniele and wife Michela of Italy, sister-in-law Adelina of Italy. She will be especially missed by her closest cousin who she considered a sister, Rosa Scala of Springfield.  She also leave behind many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to gather on Friday, September 18, 2020 from 4 - 7 PM at Forastiere Smith Funeral Home, 220 North Main Street, East Longmeadow. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 19 beginning at 8:45 AM at the funeral home followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 AM at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 123 William Street, Springfield. Entombment will be in the St. Michael the Archangel Mausoleum at St. Michael Cemetery, 1601 State Street, Springfield. MASKS AND SOCIAL DISTANCING ARE REQUIRED IF ATTENDING SERVICES.
