Sonja M. Jorey

LONGMEADOW – Sonja M. Jorey, 84, passed away on September 13, 2017. Born in Djocja, Indonesia on March 8, 1933 to the late Louis C. and Emma W.G. (Ten-Hoorn) Saegaert, she emigrated from Holland to the United States on February 2, 1960. She had worked as a clerk for the Hartford National Bank. Sonja enjoyed watching tennis and playing keno. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 45 years, Bruce T. Jorey who passed away April 7, 2011 and her siblings Charles (Ron) Saegaert, Ilse Limbach, Dianna (Rose) Saegaert, Maria Saegaert, Ivonne DeJongh and Dolly Jager. She leaves her brother Cobus Saegaert of Feeding Hills; her sisters Carla Schaad and her husband Lou of the Netherlands and Cherry Bastiaans and her husband Rudy of West Springfield as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Family and friends are invited to gather on Monday, September 18, 2017 from 4-7 PM at Forastiere Smith Funeral Home, 220 North Main Street, East Longmeadow with a prayer service at 5 PM.
