Ralph L. King, Sr.

Ralph L. King, Sr., 87, passed away on February 15, 2018 at Mercy Medical Center. Born in Springfield, MA on August 18, 1930 to the late Lawrence H. and Alice M. (Lagerstrom) King, he attended Springfield Trade High School.

From 1952-1954, Ralph proudly served his country in the United State Marine Corps. He then co-founded Wilbraham Trucking Corporation and worked as a trucker for 30 years before retiring in 1980. He was a member of the American Legion Post 185 and the Elks Lodge as well as being involved in the Boy Scouts of America for many years. Ralph also enjoyed eating and going to the casino.

Besides his parents, Ralph is predeceased by his brothers Virgil and Wayne. To cherish his memory, he leaves his loving wife of 64 years Eleanor King of Agawam; sons Ralph L. King, Jr. (Susan) of Feeding Hills, Daniel T. King (Linda) of Springfield and Eric W. King (Kathryn) of Ludlow; daughter Laurie B. Hill (Whitney) of Agawam; grandchildren Sarah, Jeffrey, Anthony, Matthew, Abigail and Ryan; great grandchildren Cale, Breckin, Addison, Timothy and Thomas as well as his siblings Richard, Sandra, Alfred, Arthur, Allen, Phillip, David.

Family and friends are invited to gather on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 from 5 – 8 PM at Colonial Forastiere Funeral Home, 985 Main Street, Agawam, MA. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 22, 2018 at 9:45 AM at the funeral home. Private committal services will be held at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery.
