Norma Valentine Warner

February 14, 1937 ~ November 13, 2017 (age 80) 80 Years Old

It is with great sadness that the family of Norma Valentine (Cushing) Warner, 80, of Southwick, MA, formerly of Melvin Village, NH, announces her passing on Monday, November 13, 2017. Norma was the beloved wife of Charles Warner and died at home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Easthampton, MA on February 14, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Ada (Shumway) Cushing. After raising her children, Norma went back to school and received her Associates Degree in Art from STCC and was a highly talented painter and sketch artist. She taught ESL and citizenship classes for many years. She loved music, sang and played the piano, sang in the church choir at St. Paul’s Methodist Church in Ludlow, MA. Norma was a woman who always put the needs of others ahead of hers and took in many people over the years who needed a little help getting back on their feet. She will be missed and loved by so many family members and friends.
Besides her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Beth Murphy and her husband Stephen of Westfield; son Gregory Warner and his wife Noreen of Feeding Hills, and Jeffrey Warner and his wife Darlene of Wilbraham; a brother Arthur Cushing and his wife Linda of Ludlow; a brother-in-law Richard Veronesi of Springfield; seven grandchildren, Dr. John Murphy, Thomas Murphy, Stephen Murphy, Shawn Warner, Samuel Warner, Elizabeth Warner, and Emily Warner; and one great-granddaughter on the way in Ireland; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her siblings, Shirley Thibeault, Charles B. Cushing, Jr., Joan Martin, Rainè Veronesi, and Stephen Cushing.
Her family will receive friends on Saturday, November 18th from 11-12 PM at the Southwick Forastiere Funeral Home, 624 College Highway, Southwick, followed by a Funeral Home Service at 12 Noon. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
