Mary C. Melloni

Mary Concetta (Torrisi ) Melloni, born on December 2, 1917, was the matriarch of her large family who continued to instill values until the end. She passed comfortably on April 25, 2017 at home under the loving care of her family, close friends and Baystate Hospice. To her family and friends, she exemplified love and generosity. She made a strong impression on everyone she met. Throughout her ninety-nine years, she enjoyed the simple things in life such as the company of friends and family, preparing Sunday dinners, creating puzzles, enjoying her yard and flower garden, playing cards and going to the casino, having tag sales and gifting her famous Christmas chocolates. She enjoyed living most of her life as a resident of Agawam. She worked at the Springfield Armory for the War Effort during the 1940’s. For 21 years, she managed a drive in concession retiring in 1978. Her husband, Louis Melloni, predeceased her by twenty-five years. She truly enjoyed being the mother of her six children, all of whom reside locally; Edward and Kay, Richard and Pat, Linda and Peter Parrotta, Louis and Elaine, Gary and Denise, James and Shirley. She leaves behind fifteen adoring grandchildren, twenty-eight great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to a Liturgy of Christian Burial, at 11:00 AM, on Saturday April 29, 2017 in Sacred Heart Church, 1065 Springfield St., Feeding Hills. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Colonial Forastiere Family Funeral Home, 985 Main St., Agawam.
