Obituary

Kathleen "Kathy" Joyce Caron passed away peacefully at her home in Southwick on March 14, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Kathy was born on June 29, 1946, in Springfield, Massachusetts, to the late Rosaire and Agnes (Harrington) Meunier. Growing up in Springfield, she attended Cathedral High School, where she graduated in 1964. In 1990, she furthered her education, earning an associate degree in accounting from Holyoke Community College. Throughout her life, Kathy was known for her dedicated work ethic. In the 1970’s she operated a diner (“The Ice-cream Parlor") alongside her husband. She held a managerial position at Babb's Skating Rink in W. Suffield, CT where her creativity and youthful style brought happiness to many and helped make Babbs a weekend destination for years. She also worked at Neckers Toy Store in Simsbury, CT alongside her best friend, where she found joy in bringing smiles to the faces of children and families. Outside of work, Kathy embraced an active lifestyle. Her quick wit and infectious sense of humor endeared her to all who had the privilege of knowing her. She enjoyed nature-filled walks s and maintained her fitness through regular visits to the gym. Family was paramount to Kathy, and she found immense joy and fulfillment in spending time with her children and grandchildren. Christmas held a special place in her heart, as she delighted in creating lasting memories with her loved ones, and giving generously to those she held dear
Kathy was a woman of unwavering integrity and faith. A devoted communicant of Our Lady of the Lake Church in Southwick.
Kathy leaves behind her beloved husband, Paul Caron, who married in 1966, and shared 57 years of love and companionship. She is also survived by her devoted sons, Stephen, David, Christopher, and Jeffrey, along with her twelve adored grandchildren, sister Carol Furlong, and brothers John and William Meunier. In addition to her parents, Kathy was predeceased by her brother Francis Meunier and sister Shirley Wilson. In the hearts of those who knew her, Kathy's memory will forever be cherished. Her legacy of love, laughter, and kindness will continue to inspire and uplift those whose lives she touched.
Family and friends are invited to her visitation on Wednesday March 20, 2024 from 5pm – 7pm at Southwick Forastiere Funeral & Cremation, 624 College Hwy., Southwick MA. Her funeral will be held on Thursday March 21, 2024 at 11:15am in the funeral home. Followed by a Funeral Mass at 12:30pm in Our Lady of the Lake Parish, 224 Sheep Pasture Rd., Southwick MA. Burial in the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, Agawam MA.
