Julia Kozikowski

January 7, 1927 ~ February 9, 2018 (age 91) 91 Years Old

Feeding Hills - Julia (Woishnis) Kozikowski, 91, entered into eternal rest on Friday, February 9, 2018 in Agawam, MA.  Born in Springfield, daughter of the late John and Anna (Andrews) Woishnis, she was a lifelong resident of Feeding Hills. She was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Victor Peter Kozikowski. Julia had worked in the accounts payable department for twenty-five years at Strathmore Paper Company.  She was also a school bus driver for the Town of Agawam.  Julia loved nature, photography and imagining and creating something beautiful out of nothing.  These creative talents were often shared when she was asked to speak for local organizations. Her gardens were filled with unusual hosta plants, holly, winter berries and other plants.  She loved sharing her gardens with people, explaining the different species she was growing. She especially enjoyed flowers, photographing plants and creating beautiful arrangements.  After her retirement, this love of flowers led her to volunteering at Sacred Heart Church, decorating the altar for over ten years.  Her holly and winter berries still are used each year to decorate St. Michael’s Cathedral in Springfield during the Christmas season.  On Thursday nights, she played cards at St. John’s Church in Agawam. She was a member of the Agawam Polish American Club and its former Women’s Auxiliary, the Agawam Garden Club and a communicant of Sacred Heart Church and its former Rosary Altar Society.  She leaves three children, Julie Ann and Steven Adamski of Feeding Hills, MA, Bette Mae and Dr. Lawrence Christian of Simsbury, CT, Daniel Peter and Debra Kozikowski of Feeding Hills, MA, her grandchildren, Matthew and Kimberly Christian of Simsbury, CT, Dr. Michael and Dr. Arabella Christian of West Simsbury, CT, Nathan and Franca Adamski of Agawam, MA, Daniel Adamski of Richmond, RI, five great-grandchildren, Natalie, Audrey, Poeta, Allegra, and Quintin, a brother and his wife, Alexander and Dolores Woishnis of Chicopee, MA, a brother-in-law, Harry Kozikowski of Suffield, CT, two sisters-in-law, Mary K. Labun of Feeding Hills, MA, Jennie Rapalus of Frederick, MD, many nieces, nephews and her special little friend William.  She was predeceased by her siblings, Joseph Woishnis, Mary W.
