He was also a member of the International Brotherhood of Carpenters Union Local 108 in Springfield. Joe enjoyed many years in the Candlepin Bowling League in Agawam, was an avid golfer, enjoyed the opera and theatre, and traveling overseas, especially with his family to Italy for many years. Joe cherished his Wednesday morning coffee time with Dino and Al at Giovanni’s in Agawam. He was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church in Agawam.

Joe was predeceased by his beloved wife Eleanor in 2007. He is survived by his loving children: Lenore Masciotra Brooks, Anthony J. Masciotra and his wife Kathy and Joseph A. Masciotra Jr. and his wife, Amanda, all of Agawam.
He also leaves his six grandchildren: Shannon Fleury and her husband David and their daughters Isabella and Lola; John Conant, Camille Hatzis and her husband Alex and their daughter Eleonora, Glenna Brooks, Daniel Masciotra and his fiancé Haley St. Jean, and Laura Masciotra; and 3 nieces.
